Race to the Pole - Response

I dislike how Shackleton is against Scott because they are competing and going all over the place. Shackleton has his own party now, a boat, ponies and a motor car. I also dislike the fact that they were once together in the same party and now against each other because they should still be friends and should still be racing to the pole together. This book is very competitive.
