So far that I have been reading this book ,the most saddest thing is that when you see something  and you go to tell somebody that is close to you and they don't believe you , you kind of doubt yourself and you kind of think your a dumbo.The happiest thing in the book is that Isabella's crew got united with       AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't like the book because it always talks about the sea , water and ghosts and that is  boring to me but not to the others.The saddest part of the book is when Toby found out that the ship Isabella is not real.

I like the part when Jessica gets a job and the amazing part is that on the first day of her work carrear she earns $10,000. Another thing I like in the story is when Jessica goes to this dumping place and she finds a really old chair. With the old chair she finds a ripped and cruimbled cushion and when she picked it up money fell out. She was so happy because she got more money and it is a good oppunity to get money out out of the dump. Another thing is that it is a life time thing. It is a very intrestresting story.

I really liked the part when Captan Laperouse wanted to be friends with the Spaniards and threw them a big banquet/ party that all up-town and rich Spanish people could attend to. I thought that this was very nice and that the French and Spanish should have then become good friends with each other after they had that huge chance to socialise with each other. This was the first thing that I liked about this part of " On Board The Boussole".

Likes: Number 2:

I enjoyed it when Julienne kept her promise to her journal that she would wait one-hundred more days before she wrote in her journal again and then one-hundred days after she made the promise she wroe in her journal again. I liked this because it shows that Julienne is not a person who can break a promise easily, she is someone you can trust in, she stays on task very well and if she decides she is going to do something she sticks to it. This is what I like to do and it shows what a good person Julienne is.

Dislikes: Number 1:

I disliked it when Captain Laperouse said that all his sailors could not have any food just because the rich Spaniards didn't want them to have any food. I disliked this part because Captain Laperouse and all the Spaniards who attended the banquet were all very selfish and I do not like people who are selfish like yhat. This was something i definitely didn't like.

In the book we are reading [On Board The Boussole ] there is a character called Alain the qualities of Alain are that he is a true sailor ,he is a friend , and he is a true life saver.He saves Julienne from dying in a barrel ,slipping of the yardman ,he helped her to try to over come her fears ,he taught her how to swim .Alain so far in the story is a true life saver and a friend to Julienne .Julienne trusts Alain to keep her secret hidden.


DISLIKES:

In this story the parts that i don't like about the Boussole and Alain are that the ship only is for boys .It is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo unfair.This is an unfair rule .Why can't girls go on the ship? Its unfair i mean girls can be sailors to.I dislike king louise he is a mean bunch of silly royal orders .

In this book it shows a girl finding a cane chair in the junk. Not knowing she saw an old,crumpled cushion on the chair. Since the cushion was there she tried to cut it off, accidentally cut some fabric off the chair then money came out. Well she is really lucky that  it happened because that's like a once in a life opportunity for that to happen. The sad thing is the dad doesn't want the girl to have the money because it belongs to someone else.When she goes to school she absolutely hates it because it makes her feel embarrass because its a new year.

I don't like how there was a creeping shadow near Julienne because I think the creeping shadow is EVIL!! I also think the dark shadow is going to hurt Julienne.

I don't like how when the ships left how the surf splashed back and sprayed Julienne and all the other people on the boat because it would hurt if the salty water sprayed in their eyes and if it was cold salty water then you would get cold.

I like how the boy beast did not do anything to julienne yet.Because by the name boy BEAST they would of done something to hurt her it was very nice.

The boy beast relates to my life because when I am mad I am tough on the inside and I am quite on the outside with a happy emotion.If I was the boy beast I would've done something since I was a mad man.

Dislikes:

The thing in this story that I did not like is how the boy beast did not show his feelings to julienne so what if he is a beast he still can show his feelings.

I wonder if the boy beast knew that julienne was disguising or if he just wanted to bully him?I wonder if I have ever felt like the boy beast for such a reason?I wonder if I have bullied someone for no good reason?

I really like how Julienne put a lot of thought into her writing what is happening and this is one of the sentences "left alone the men convicts galloped around the barracks and over the women's camp.The fighting was worse than I have ever saw on the streets of breast .At least Pe're was not here to see such evil". i also like when Captain Lapourose throw a banquet for the Spanish because it gave them a great opportunity to make new friends and to stop war.

Dislikes:

I don't like how Julienne has to experience such horror when on board the ship it is revolting because she is just a 13 year old girl and i don't think she deserves that sight.I still don't like how she will not tell the truth because i really want her to but she wont but i guess she will when she wants to.

I don't know why Julienne made a promise not to write in her journal for one hundred days?

I have just started to read a marathon of her own and I have already learnt:

• Sophie is leaving crete and her and her family are coming to Australia to see Baba

I like this book because Sophie wants to run in a marathon when she arrived in the Parthenon Stadium which is 206 meters long!

The best thing about the book is how all the famous country's race to be the one of the first to get the the south pole which is pretty cool.
LIKES:
I like how they don't cheat yet, I don't think they will for the whole race.
DISLIKE:
The thing I don't like is they kill dogs so they can eat the dogs which is very wrong.

Twisting up a storm by Angelo

This week we will be reading the book Twisting up a storm.The book that we are reading is so sad cause in one of the pages in the book it said Kristen dad died from the storm and 27 people died from the same storming .Some of the part of the book was pretty good cause Kristen and her mother got caught in the tornado but they got caught in the tree when the tornado stop but the good the good thing is they survived but they had a few injuries but that is good.

I did not like the part when the most devastating tornado in american history was the Tri-State-Tornado,which ripped across Missouri,Illnois and in Indiana in 1935 completely destroying four towns and killing 689 people

The happiest bit from the story is that Kristen's family was unharmed and the tornadoes

 were very small and the saddest thing is that 27 people got killed because it was a small tornado.I'm surprised that the weather satellites light's help meteorologist to keep  track.

i liked the part when it showed  you in steps how forms for e.g.

1. normal tornado:cold dry air and warm wet air meet moving up to the clouds forming with the wind making a super cell forming a funnel at the top.

2. strong tornado:with the normal tornado the wind makes it bigger with the power of the strong force of the air. With the normal tornado making the bit at the bottom getting smaller that means the more smaller at the bottom the more fast and harder it can suck every thing.

Twisting up a storm is a rad book but sad book. I don't like the part when they said that 27 people passed away in the twister:(. I like the part when the tell you how many km/h it can go it is really interesting. I like`the part when Toby see's a ship out at sea .I like when Toby runs up the stairs as fast as he can to see the ship in the light house.This book is very boring because they only talk about the sea and ships.I don't like talking about ships and the sea.This are the characters I no so far Toby,Skip and Tobys grandma.

I like the book because it is very well focused and has good illustration. Chapter 1, 'Hijack' is about two Nash and Millie finding the rocket randomly while hover boarding, chapter 2, 'Outer Space Outlaws' is about entering the rocket ( and Squoot accidentally launching the rocket, thinking that it said 'lunch' ) and in the beggining of chapter 3, 'Kalguri' is when Millie goes in a little bubble as a greeting from the aliens in Kalguri, it is very well put together.

Toby loves staying at the lighthouse with his grandparents. He loves the sea and the rocky beach. One evening, while watching a storm blow in,he sees an old sailing ship in the bay. It was there one second and gone the next. Where did it go and will Toby ever see it again.

See??? This book really does sound interesting and i'm so exited to read it. i can't wait to read it because i had a little glimpse in the book and its a comic! I love comics so i think that i will enjoy reading this.

Then Millie is captured by the monster,and it's up to Nash to try and save her.

Some information i have is that it is a comic book so it wouldn't have very much information. So i think that it is gong to start with Millie and Nash going on a spaceship to a planet then it crashes , they land on a planet no one has ever heared of and some sort of alien monster comes and they try and catch it because if they don't the planet will explode or something. But it said in the blur that the empire of the planet isn't even a human so  i think it might be difficult for Millie and Nash.

From reading the first pages i can tell that Nash and Bozo hate each other.I wonder if they are sister and brother i also wonder if they are rich .I wonder if they  live in space and if they do not where do they live .

I absolutely adore that this book is a comic book because I haven't read a comic book in a really long time. I also adore the art works and how artistic this book is. The book is very interesting and at the same time it can keep you in the book for a very very long time. In my opinion, a perfect book for kids. 100% my type.

Don't you like the part when Alain saved Jullienne from falling in the Yardann even though I don't know what that means it might be something bad or hurtful so lucky she was saved. That might be the reason why Alain is friends with Julienne they are one beautiful pair of friends.

The thing I just don't get is if Julienne knew the history of her family life. She might  have gone away before she even saw them how sad if she did because in my family i'm sure it has never happened because we are all special not just me but everyone.

DISLIKES

The part I don't like is when Petit Pierre had to partly blame Julienne for something she didn't do how mean of him,she didn't do anything so whats it for her to be blamed I like Petit Pierre he is a huge blamer.

I dislike in "The Place To Be" how Jessica finds out that Catherine might be urning more money than Dad who works the most in the house hold which is pretty good for Catherine but not so good for the Dad (He is going crazy like how Cooper does).

But I do like that Catherine is trying to be more like Jessica's mum which is very nice of her to help out in the problem but she will never be like Jessica's mum.

I really don't like how there is a lot of killing and fighting and before page 60 there were no unexpected turns , it was really boring to read but once page 60 had finally come it was all up hill and that was were all the killing and interesting times then we hit page 65 then it was getting dull and there was no excitement or joy, just fighting.

what i like about the book is that in the third chapter (im choosing this chapter) she makes a lot of friends i think at her new school. i also like the part when she finds a chair in the sewers and in side the chair is 10,000 dollars and now i feel very very very jealous that she has all that money, now that i think of it she can by a lot of things with 10,000 dollars. ohhh she's so so lucky to have all that money just from a old rusty chair.

DISLIKES

i dont like the part when her dad finds out about the old rusty chair with 10,00 dollars in it and almost takes all that money off her i mean like she found the money she gets to keep the money her dad dosent have to take the money off her, I wonder how she felt when she almost got all that money of her.

DISLIKES:I don't like how the French gunners couldn't befriend the natives and not kill them,
or at least take the Aboriginals captive. The book is based on, not a true story, but a true event
in eighteenth century history, so the French, English, Dutch and other Early Explorers would 
have done this to all natives.

 I liked how millie & nash's friends set the trap because it was a smart idea for kids and that the robot helped nash and millie get out of the net. That was really nice of the robot because i am surprised that the robot actually has feelings for the kids.

I don't like that Saratoga Mantu cares so much about his ship when the kids and Bazule nearly got crushed and he only cared about his robot who cared and helped get Millie back and Saratoga nearly ruined all Jeeves work. Like he didn't even care about what Jeeves had to say and he was very mean to Nash, Millie and Bazule.

PUZZLE
 I don't know why Millie was wearing Saratoga Mantu's helmet or mask thing and then when he came Millie didn't even have the good deed to give back his helmet so he wouldn't get angry at them even though he went to another PLANET and he didn't get mad at them and they couldn;t make him a bit less mad at them,but they didn;t I'm pretty sure it made it worse.

i wonder why the author was intrested in this story and why he would choose  to write about it i wonder if he was one of the racers or if he was actualy following the racers but i think it would of have been more likley that he was told about this.where the racers his friends did he start the race i wonder if the authour was interested in the south pole. if the autor could become one of the racers if he wasn't then wich one would he be. i would be edward wilson because he is not much of a problem causer . i would also like to be scott because he is very smart courages .

I wonder where those people got there ponies from, because the book has the chapter ' A Car And some Ponies ', and that is not the first chapter of the book, which makes me wonder where they they came from, how they came to and who they came from. I also wonder why the author called it a car and some ponies because the chapter doesn't seem about cars and ponies, it seems more about food, water, dogs and carrying loads. This chapter is chapter number five, and I would not understand the book very much if I had not read more of the book to help me see that it is a true book, since I would've told the author to change it if I could tell him/her.

 I feel so sorry for Tony he has been having such a bad time his family doesn't know how much he loves art.And i loved Ceejay before but what she did to Tony is just so mean so now i hate her.Tony's mum sounds nice in the book she tries to get everyone happy which is really nice in a person.

I wonder why Shackleton's hut was shaking? I mean, he built it pretty sturdy. Maybe he didn't have help from Scott. i am also curious why Scott is so smart? He might be studying to be a scientist for uni and needs some time to explore the white, cold, icy world.

Why doesn't the book say how Amunsden got to The Pole first?? To me that made the book less descriptive, and does NOT give you the information you need for tests, history questions etc. I thought the book can/could improve. It can improve by giving more information about who got to the Pole first and how they won/ got to the Pole first. I didn't really like it that much when I read it this week.

Tony had to make a decision wheather to run away to day art or go
to AFL his choice was art but then he wanted to to both but he couldn't
his mum wanted him to do art and his dad wanted him to do AFL his
choice was art.

Tony made a decision not to go to the competittion of art he went to
AFL and since he missed art he was angry and his mum told him next
time you are going to art .He missed art he said next time i better not miss
art.Tony done his dads decision and next time its his mums decision.

I like all the characters in the book because they all have a different personality. Shackleton  takes all orders , Scott is smart ,William always winges and wines . I like characters who have all different personality's.Because if every one had the same personality life would be very boaring , so thats why i like these characters.

Race to the pole is a very exciting and a very worthy story and there are 3 opponents named Scott,Amundsen and Shackleton  now I've read the book I know who won Amundsen Scott was really paranoid and Shackleton said better luck next time ay. But Amundsen had some last words he said I won I was the first one to the top of the South Pole and he had no discussions about it.

I'm glad that the French and the English are did not go into war.
The book finally gets interesting at the page 70!
